Information about the program
This professional retraining program is a course aimed at developing students’ understanding of the processes that occur in a person during crisis situations, such as the loss of loved ones, serious illness, job loss, divorce, disasters, violence, military action and other unfavorable circumstances. Students will learn techniques and methods for providing effective spiritual and psychological assistance to a person both during and after a crisis.
The program is intended for church ministers with a theological education (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
Program content

- History and legal basis of chaplaincy
- Developmental psychology
- Basics of Biblical Counseling
- Spiritual and psychological assistance in crisis situations
- Help in overcoming grief and loss
- Chaplaincy Ministry to Families in Crisis
- Spiritual care at the end of life
- Working with dependencies
- Chaplaincy Work with the Consequences of Psychological Trauma (PTSD)
- Chaplaincy service in schools, sanatoriums and rehabilitation centers
Learning outcomes
The program accepts active church ministers with completed theological education. A letter of recommendation from the sending church organization is required.
